GTU coverage of hiring of new JDA director.

http://www.jacksonville.com/news/georgia/2009-05-20/story/camden_development_authority_names_jacksonville_businessman_as_directo Well I'll be damned: all these years, when I thought that the JDA was being totally ineffective and wasting millions, they were actually just being "deliberate with (their) decisions." Me thinks perhaps they should just loosen up and go for it.

"Instead of aggressively marketing the county, we wanted to be deliberate with our decisions," McDill said. "This county has too much residential tax base and not enough business tax base."

No shit Sherlock.......

Of the three candidates you listed bio's for Keating would have been my LAST choice. But politics being what they are in Camden, I realize I was looking for the wrong qualifications in a JDA Director. My only hope now is that Keatings conscience will override the vile things the JDA will task him NOT to do. Such as: BRINGING JOBS TO CAMDEN COUNTY!

Keating has a family member that lives in Osprey Cove. He is pretty tight with all of the power players. With Keatings ties to Ryland land in Camden County, things are going to get pretty interesting.

Look forward to many more instances of land swaps, mistaken land lines, anonymous quick claim deeds just to name a few things the public should be on the look out for. The JDA is no longer in the water/sewer business. They have moved on to more prosperous, less noticeable business dealings. LAND, LAND, AND MORE LAND

I hope that any Commissioner with a ounce of decency that reads this, pays attention........

Keating is the very OPPOSITE of what Camden County needs. Hate to be the bearer of bad news. But it is what it is.
