Here's Gordon Jackson's covergae of what transpired at yesterday's meeting at the Chamber of Commerce.

Rather than duplicate Gordon's coverage, as soon as I finish reading the Camden Partnership's annual report from last year, I'll try to give y'all some insight into the nature and purpose of that organization. http://www.jacksonville.com/news/georgia/2009-07-29/story/kings_bay_naval_submarine_bases_advocacy_group_disbands

So the rumor was true......

I just re-read the article. Are you sure you and I read the same Gordon jackson article? Gordon sat right next to me during the meeting and I was at his elbow afterwards and hear all of his questions and answers. Hois reporting is dead on: there is to be no merger of anything. Re-read it carefully without the blinding prejudice of desperately wanting to prove me wrong and get some help with that JDS.

If they eliminate the Military committee and community action group and place the duties of the two under the Chamber of Commerce and Camden Partnership, what would you call that?

Not that it matters. I think you're funny.

Did I mentionthat I was actually at the meeting?

The CAG (Community Action Group) was stood up to fight our battle to keep everything NSBKB rather than shipping some of it off to Groton during the last BRAC (base Raalignmnet and Closue) hearings. That danger has passed until the next BRAC rounds. Hence, the CAG has been mothballed. Its mission has not been assumed by anyone. I assume you are familair with "mothballed" in the Naval sense of the word, right?

The "military committee" you refer to was decommissioned totally. I'll tell you more about the Camden Partnership later in a separate post.
