Once you read this, I think you will begin to understand why the city not too long ago expanded the area defined as "downtown" and why the downtown crowd has mobilized in typical dog-in-the-manger fashion against the latest TAD request. Remember, St. Marys City government is owned and operated for the exclusive benefit of the downtown crowd. Watch how one week after the TAD meeting, the downtowners' concerns about public liability for a loan repayment will vaporize as they rally in support of this program.

I can't wait to hear what they intend to do with the money. The last I checked the DDA and Aquatic Center were both in the RED. If the City allows the DDA to get this loan the municipality is ultimately responsible. So not only are the taxpayers responsible for funding their social club for DMA we will also be responsible for the repayment of this loan.
If they say they are getting this money so that the DDA can purchase more of the vacant properties downtown I am going to barf!
Stop throwing good money away behind bad.
THE ONLY WAY TO REVITALIZE THE DOWNTOWN IS TO PROVIDE A REASON FOR PEOPLE TO WANT TO GO DOWNTOWN.

What the hell is wrong with you guys. Get with the progam. This is part of the socialistic agenda for craddle to grave government regulation and control. Every thing you ever wanted is in the hands of the governement. The new program is to just ask the governemnt that allowed every man, woman and child to be screwed over for many life times. You fellows act like the government is the problem and not the answer. You are way out of step with the new movement to socialism. Wake up and see the hammer and sickle comrades.
