The whole proposal is a joke. It is abusrd when you go to his MOU and see the pictures of what he says will be there. This is not Hilton Head or Sea Island. I have traveled all over our costal areas and this is not the place for that sort of developement. It is just a show to get the money and then find developers. It is just a flip flop of the Land Mar rouge. Looks pretty but that is where it will all end. What has he done out there so far? It would be great to have that but it is not feasible and will never happen. We will never see that high end developement.

I need to get a good map and see jsut exactly where this island is, especially realtive to the sewage treatment plant at Point Peter. Someone said it is 20 miles away. I do believe that is a bit of an exaggeration.

To even waste the time to look at this proposal is a real indicator of just how detached from reality the city manager and city council of St. Marys truly are.

I can tell you where the property is located. Take Laurels Island Boulevard all the way to the end - once you pass the Christian's Ladning subdivision the road becomes a dirct road. Keep going down the dirt road a good 1/2 mile or so and it cuts back to the left. Continue down the dirt road and there are a few (maybe 10) homes back there that are right on the water. The "island" is just beyond those homes.

Thanks. That is a good ways from the sewage treatment plant. Of course, the new pipes would be run not from the plant but from their present terminus, which I imagine is just west of Winding Road.

I thought the plant they were referring to was located on Point Peter road, in St. Marys. Not to far from the Cumberland Harbour development.

that is my beleive too. What I meant was that although the plant is at Point Peter, sewage pipes back to that plant already run out the subdivisions along Winding Rd -at least I believe that they do. If that is the case, then to hook up Laurel Island, you are only talking about bridging the distance to the island from the end of those lines, not all the way back to the Point Peter plant.

By the way, yesterday's T&G only just now arrived in my mail box today. Anyone else have that problem, or was it just on my route?

Of course, my brain was saying "That is my belief too..". Don't know what my fingers were up to.

Was'nt winding river annexed into the city of kingsland?

i don't think so. I remeber that then Councilman Gary Blount was the one who negotiated for the city to reach an agreement on their (the developer's) share of the cost of running water and sewer to those subdivisions. I assume that means that they were also annexed intro the city, though one does not necessarily necessitate the other. Anyone know for a certainty? At any rate, I do know that they get their water and sewer from St. Marys, even if it turns out that they are still in the county.
