The purpose of this blog is to provide the author, Jay Moreno, with an outlet to comment upon items of socio-political and socio-economic import in Camden County, Georgia and to generally satisfy a daily compulsion to write.
HISTORIC WATERFRONT, ST. MARYS, GA.
The nature of the thing struck me as so self-evident as to render such a commentary superfluous. However, I suppose that your accurate characterization of the main proponents of the thing is useful in making the obvious obvious even to the non-observant.
Just out of curiosity, do the waterfront City Park and the Community Garden annoy you as well? What about Habitat for Humanity et al...do they just piss you off beyond all measure?
Despite my disdain for that busybody, Quisling idiot, Jimmy Carter, I'm not opposed to Habitat for Humanity. As a matter of fact, when I moved into my new home, I called and donated my perfectly good washer and dryer (I bought new, "greener" ones), an older but serviceable vacuum cleaner, and a couple of lamps. I've got another box of stuff ready for them in my spare bedroom.
I'm suspicious of anything goverment sponsored with he word "community" in the title. I prefer American individualism to collectiveism, Comrade.
The park was a way for then Mayor Jerry Brandon & associates in the DMA (AKA "Jerry and the Pirates") to use public funds to keep out competitors from out of town who would have built, with private CAPITAL, a hotel, condos, and shops which would have put most of the Pirates out of the heavily tax-payer subsidized Pirates out of busines.
Fascinating comment on "collectivism" from a man who boasts of his service in Vietnam. Is the military not a collectivist entity (group goals being viewed as holding a place of higher priority than individual ones/the common identity over individual will)? How on earth did you reconcile your "individualist" beliefs with military compliance? No wonder you're such a bitter man! Poor conflicted Jay...
Ah...so that's the best that you can do when confronted with a genuine philosphical querie. As I thought: the self-styled emperor has no clothes. I'd hoped for better from you, Jay, for I know that you fancy yourself a learned man. Once again, you simply fall back on silly insults and are incapable of reasoned polemics. So...not a worthy opponent - I find myself rather disappointed...bit not surprised.
Comparing the U.S. military to a "community" in the tree hugging, Birkenstock sandal wearing, America-hating, anti-capitalist, anti-individualist, long-haired, maggot infested liberal sense of the word is such a prima facie absurdity as not to merit serious contemplation.

What...no sarcastic comment about tree-hugging, narcissistic eco-weenies, Jay?

Thanks.

You are truly a silly ass extraordinaire - even among liberals, you stand out!
