Interesting that the robber timed his event when all of St. Marys and probably many of CCSO were busy with a suicide threat. Could not be better if it was planned that way.

In this case, it is probably a coincidence, but no detective worth a damn would fail to check out where all of the ex-officers close associates and family were at the time of the robbery.

The irony is that I have often said -and writen - that if you want to rob a bank in Camden, all you have to do is get a couple of old clunkers and stage a head-on, in front of Walmart or leave a suspicious brief case in the Winn Dixie parking lot, or something similar and every bored city and county officer, fireman, and EMT will show up there, leaving you free to make your getaway.

Jay, it's not so much boredom, as it is protocol!

Jay you are rigt on it. Those of us who have lived here know that a reported dog fight will bring out our tank, multiple fire trucks, EMT wagons of every discription and every police vehiche with air in the tires and gas in the tank that is in Camden County. Every time this happens there is a big drop in the Huddle Houses business. But immediately there after the event the area Huddle House is flooded. Bad for some good for others. Such is life in a community where our protection officials are in love with blue lights, mace, tasiers, bells and whistles. I notice they were able to set up an explosion, tasied, and then tackled the fellow. That was a red letter day. Thank God it did not involve a crime where those Budda bellied cops would have had to particpate in a foot chase. He could have skipped away from the majority of the bunch.

The ironic part, if my intuition is correct.......

On top of the loot he will probably receive a full disability check. Pretty clever move!

Well, if it is protocol, as it apparently is, then the protocol needs to be changed. Having lived in both Savanah and jax, i can tell you that they don't have an all hands turn out at accidents the way we do.

Jay there you go using big words. "Protocol" is not a term that many of the local low level, entry cops would understand. Get down to the basics. You have to remember the hiring requiements of being able to fog a mirrow and touch your upper portion of your thigh. I thank the good Lord for the cops and hope that we can pay more and get more. YOu get what you pay for. That has been proven here.
