I'm done!

Today was my last day of 15 consecutive weeks of student teaching to finish my 3 year journey through the AASU post-baccalaureate teacher certification program. I enjoyed every minute of it, thanks to some great kids and an excellent teacher, Mr. Dave Green, RMCM (SS), USN, Ret, the sixth grade Social Studies lead teacher at Camden Middle School. Thanks also to Principal Mark Durham for hosting me. Now, just as soon as AASU can get me a certified copy of my final transcript, I'll send my application off to the state and in short order (I hope), I will be fully certified in Georgia to teach Middle Grades Social Science, Middle Grades Language Arts, and Political Science (which is taught at the high school level).

Thank you! Given the current BOE economic woes, I might not get picked up this coming school year. If not, I'll just sub for a year. I have no desire to work in an adjoining county; 0730 HRS comes early enough right here in Camden.

They need a good political science teacher in the high school. One of the ones they have now is extremely liberal. The teacher may be a good teacher but they seem to cloud their teaching with their views. It would be great to have someone who can teach political science rather than teach only their point of view with sprinkles of the subject at hand.
