Nice story. Doesn't sound too bad for the Sheriff, looking at all of the other counties being investigated and what they are accused of. I noticed Steve Berry is still misinformed of the amount of seized funds, 25 -30 million is not correct. It is just over 20 million. If he can't get something so easy straight why should we believe he doesn't exaggerate other things. Just my opinion, but I doubt you will allow this onto your blog.

Folks, I'm sure you'll see right through this insidious Thuggie ass and read and listen to it for yourselves.

Reading the amounts of mis-spent funds in other agencies across the nation, looks like pocket change in comparison to what Smith has mis-spent. And as far as Steve Berry not knowing the total amount of seized funds, I doubt that anyone, including the Sheriff, really knows the correct amount at this point. But, I can't see that it really matters the amount that has been seized, what matters is the amounts that have been spent illegally. My question is does anyone really know that amount for sure since records are so sketchy.Another question I am interested in, why is the $90,000. Viper sitting in a garage not being used for the Dare program? What a waste of money if you just put it away so noone can see it. Why not sell it and buy a patrol car?

It needs to be understood that Smith is under a lot of stress with all this mud sliging. It is impossible to keep all the stories straight.

He forgot that Monroe Henderson and Scott Huckabee build the Ponderosa.

Now there are a bunch of folks saying that it is just more of his lying and if he says it he thinks it will be the truth. Also, someone reported that his pants caught fire.

The F.B.I. and G.B.I. certain got a different story. It is a shame that all these people are telling lies on Smith. Just because he cheated on his wife, got kicked out of the F.B.I. and was threatened suit by his ex-lover does not mean he can't tell the truth. I don't think every thing he says is a lie. Well maybe most every thing, but not every word. May be every other word.

Can't we all just get along?

$20 million dollars in 22 years in office, and he spent it all! what about the seized funds which were used to purchased "CD's"; certificates of deposit, over the years? what happened to that money? the CD's were cashed in too. how much did they make the sheriff's office and what was that money spent on? why can't we get an accounting of "all" of the money?
