Bad, bad news, Big Thug: Morgan has hired Stein!

Y'all will recall that I broke this on Thursday: "Local attorney Robert Morgan has requested records of canceled checks for all state and federal seized assets accounts for the time period of July 1, 2007, through June 5, 2008." Naturally, Big Thug was not forthcoming with the info - desperately hoping to keep the newest incriminating evidence from the voters until after July 15th. No such luck. Morgan has hired Jim Stein to compel Smith to produce the information, in accordance with Georgia law. What a concept! My courthouse source tells me that Stein filed the necessary request for a hearing with the court yesterday. As a result, there will be a hearing on the matter in front of Superior Court Judge Wilkes in the Woodbine courthouse at 9:30 AM, on Thursday, the 26th of June. I will attempt to bring the data to you as soon as it is coughed up.

Who is "Big John?"

Please do not take this as an insult, it is not intended to be:

You seem almost obsessed with the sheriff. Is there anything else you talk about or is this your outlet?

Just a question with no sarcasm or "fun" intended.

As you know, I am not obsessed and you "outlet" question is clearly intended to cast doubt upon my mental status. Not that your transparent, insipient Thuggery really deserves an answer, but can you tell me of any more improtant issue of any more immediacy to the residents of this county than the upcoming election and the need , in order of importance, to:

1, Rid ourselfs of a corrupt and dishonest sheriff;

2, Keep Commisssioner Berry - the far-and-away most competent and effective member of the Board of Commissioners;

3, Defeat David Rainer, a mule-headed champion of the rule of the good-ol' boy socio-political and socio-economic oligarchy which has enjoyed stiffling, multi-generational, anti-progress, rule of this county;

and, 4, the defeat of Preston "Step 'n Fetchit" Rhodes, an ineffectual commissioner - much less chairman - who has no real core convictions but simply goes with the winning bloc on the commission, no mattter what?

I don't care who Morgan hired. Smith is going to do what ever it takes to keep those checks out of the hands of the public. He knows what they will show and he is going to iron ass it out.

It is just like him telling the lies. He knows that there is not enough time to prove most all he says is a lie. He is crooked enough to know that some of those lies are going to stick. He is desperate and will continue to lie and keep every one in the dark as much as possible. Smith would give birth to a bovine baby before he is going to produce the checks. He is going to do what ever it takes to stall on that.

How can this be possible. I saw him on TV say that the records were available to anyone in Camden County.

"It's an election year, and my opponents are trying to defame me in any way they can by character assasination...I have to say I can account for every penny spent out of that account and it is available to anyone whose a citizen in the community to pull it and read it," Smith told First Coast News.

Now I read in the Tribune that it made 2 requests and Morgan made one and not a single record has been released. I think that the folks that are saying that Smith
is a LIAR are correct.

What a disgrace for our county.

That is correct about the Tribune. Also the Times Union made request. In response to the Tribune the answer was the material was part of an investigation and it couldn't be given out. In response to Morgan they cited a bunch of stuff about what he had to do to obtain the information. The suit requested they give a release to Morgan to get the information from the bank. Morgan gave them a dead line and they just ignored it. Thus Smith will have his day in court.
