Airport referendum to be on July 15th ballot.

According to today's T&G, Judge Gillette has agreed to requests from both Democrat and Republican Parties to place a non-binding referendum on the ballot. The question will be whether or not to move the airport, provided that it can be done at no cost to the taxpayers of St. Marys. Voters county-wide will be able to vote on the referendum. However, it will be possible to track which votes came from St. Marys precincts. In the event that the vote turns out in favor of the move, I would anticipate seeing a BINDING referendum on the move placed onto the November ballot. According to my recent micro-poll (scroll down right edge), only 35 % of respondents wanted the airport left as is. The remainder wanted it sold, in one way or another.
