Ciscos sold again!

My informant tells me that he was told today by one of the most recent "Indian" owners that they have just recently sold it to another group of "Indians." Word is that the stations will soon be back into full operation, fuel and all.

Why do you call them "Indians" and draw attention to the fact with Quotation Marks?

I'm also curious what that does to the fine the owners were to have paid to the state for tampering with the pumps or if these new owners are simply another segment of the same family and this sale is merely on paper.

Also do you happen to know if this has anything to do with the Raceway closing over near exit 3?

Simple: During the course of this Cisco fiasco, the pewople Cisco sold it to have been referred to variously as Indians, Egyptians, and Pakistanis.

Some folks, including perhaps my informant, refer to anyone from that part of the world who owns a gas station or a convenience store in this country as "Indians." Hence, in the abscencce of absolute knowledge on my part, I will quote my informant in quotation marks.

Your question about an intra-familial change of ownership to get out from under the fine is an interesting one.

No, I don't know it it has anything to do with the Raceway, where the franchisee was an Indian, by way of New York, who had Anglicised his first name to "Andy." Story is he won the lottery in NY, then came down here looking for a business. Racetrack was looking to unload theor operation to a franchisee. I have no idea why it is closed.

Perhaps there was another incident of chasing a drive-off with a sword. Anyone remember that one?

My understanding is that the owners also own a Raceway in Brunswick and could not afford to keep them both open , what with the price of fuel being so high and all. They reside in Laurel Landing.
