"Sheriff's books to be available"
That's the cut-line in a story on the front page of today's GTU. Sorry, no link. I could not find it in the on-line version. Here's the gist of it.
Yesterday, at a Camden County Commission budget workshop, Jail Administrator Jim Proctor told the CCC that he was willing (by which he means BTW has finaly been forced to - or has deemed it a good political move) to let the commissioners review all records of all CCSO expenditures of tax-payer-provided funding for the last fiscal year.
Proctor maintanined that the proposed budget of $6.3 million for the next fiscal year is "below an operational level."
Believe it or not, Sleazy Talker Walker actually had the gaul to not only address the Camden County Commission on the budget, but actually scolded commissioners Rhodes and Zell.
Clueless twit Chuckie Sears chimed in with "You still need to take care of the employees. You have never seen morale so low at the sheriff's department."
Puppet Rainer, appealing to his Thuggie base, had this to say: after noting that the funding debate is a matter of public safety, he urged commissioners to "set aside petty issues of personalities," then went on to say "It's going on like a broke (he meant broken) record. Everybody ought to look at this for the betterment of Camden County." Yeah, that kind of puke-inducing, platitudinous, crap sure sounds like a strategy.
Big Thug Willie was, of course, not there. He probably had a more pressing engagement, like servicing a bimbo or attending a birthday party.

Low moral? One would think so. You are working for a low life sheriff who sees no wrong with Walker not reporting criminal activity, allows criminals to have a safe harbor, spends seized assets like it is monopoly money and you ain't happy and having a good time. Wonder why. What a brainless, clueless, nit wit Sears is. She should be the poster girl for stupid. I bet there will be even less happy days when Smith and crew are looking at the feds. The feds have more teeth than Smith has tail. Leon can't sing this one away. I see a bad moon arising.
You inadvertently stumbled into the truth: they all have low morale becuase a few have "low moral."
I don't understand why the people at the Sheriff's Dept. have to bring their books to the Commissioners to see? The bills are all paid in the Commissioners office and they certainly have a list of what has been paid for the Sheriff's dept. They have a read out for each department and it shows everything that has been paid out and shows what part of the budget it was charged to. The only records that the Sheriff is not forthcoming with is the Shared Assets Money. Can anyone explain this to me?
It's comical to me that anti-Rainer folks are jumping on the Callahan band wagon. I suppose they don't realize Callahan served on the commission 20 or so years ago. Back in the days of paving and maintaining private roads and such. I know it's hard for the critics to imagine but if elected Callahan may make people miss Rainer. For the out with the good ol' boys crowd, this election is the lesser of two evils.
The bills for the sheriff use to go through the Commissioner's office. But since the commissioners gave them a monthly draw of their annual budget, the sheriff's office pays their own bills without anyone's approval. The problem is year after ear a budget is set and the sheriff overspends it. The commissioners have no other recourse than to pay the overspending out of the general fund. Thus, the sheriff is breaking the county. The only recourse the commission has is set a budget and do not give him anymore money at the end of the year. Thus, Bill will baqnkrupt the sheriff's office. Why is it so hard for Bill to comply with the commissioners to stay within a budget? Why must he not curtali some of his spending as every department has amd we as individuals have had to within our own households? Why can't Bill comply with the commissioner's business plans just as every other constitutional officer is doing? Why should Bill singlehandly be able to overspend every year and affect our taxes to the point that if the Commissioners do not take action we would surely have a tax increase just so that Bill can spend uncontrollably? With all of Bill's continued controlled spending, why are the deputies still with a raise and yet Charlene and the other top brass continues to get merit raises and annual raises?? I know the answers just as well as you do. Bill is too arrogant to succumb to the peoples' wishes. He thinks that no person or governing body should tell him how to run his office. And yes that would include the general public. His die-hard friends are quick to tell anyone that he has helped so many people. But Bill has pissed away about $20,000,000 to benefit himself. I believe the current investigation will soon reveal the truth and we can all stop bickering. What I have stated is just the tip of the iceberg. Stay tuned.
The chances of any one - or all , for that matter - of the commissioners getting away with "paving and maintaining private roads" and so on nowadays are nil.
Perhaps it's a matter of choosing the possible devil most of us don't know over the BTW puppet devil we all do know - and have damned well had enough of.
