The news behind the news.

This morning, I learned from an absolutely reliable source that the day after those two civilian sport parachutists landed inside the NSBKB perimeter fence, the CO of the base fired off a letter to the owner of the jump school at the St. Marys Airport. He infomred her that if it happened again, she would be subject to federal prosecution. Moreover, it turns out that the two parachutists were detained by security and thoroughly grilled by NIS agents. The Navy was definitely not amused.

wonder how much your girlfriend Deborah and the new mayor paid them to do it? Sure is funny that it happened right after the Navy said that they have never been worried about the airport.

I was told they were in the Navy. Navy Seals. That may not be so but that is what I was told.

From the details given me, they landed a short distance inside the perimeter fence on the side toward St. Marys. Interestingly, I don't believe that they landed within the prohibited area. It is a common misconception that the entire base is within the prohibited area but this is not strictly true. The prohibited area is a 2 mile radius circle and some of the base is actually outside of it.
