I know to the anti all official segment of the population this will go unpraised/noticed, but this once again illustrates how far we have come in a short amount of time in reference to the JDA. Keating has exceeded every reasonable expectation by a mile. With his ability/desire to market the county and assistance from groups like the Chamber (headed up Ga work Ready) we are witnessing tremendous progress. We have all long been hopefull for increased job/career opportunities, we finally have cause to be.

I could not agree more. The fools who critcize him on Topix and ocassionally try to on here are obviously not aware of what he has been up to and the fact that he started the drive from back behind his own goal post, thanks to his two do-nothing predecessors and a CCBOC that really did not give a damn.

I think Keating is doing better than his predessors. BUT I think his efforts are equally misguided. I did come to realize in his opinion piece the other day that he does know all of the components needed to operate a successful JDA. BUT in my opinion (and its just that) he has been given the wrong set of marching orders.

I believe he has been informed to focus on three areas. Durango property, airport relocation and infrastructure/development for northern Camden County developments. If economic growth happens to occur, thats a plus.

If something other than residential comes to the Durango site it will be a blessing. But I believe the main focus is to use this property to forge forward on the first TAD. Because once the first one is passed they don't need voters approval for the TAD in northern Camden County.

But I will continue to watch and see and Jay has requested.

I'm not seeing that at all, with the exception of Durango redevelopment, where I'm not seeing a TAD initiative.

Sorry the first TAD will be in Kingsland. They are already getting their ducks in a row.
